I'm a professional wedding planner, and I've seen plenty of bad guest behavior at events. AdvertisementIn my years as a professional wedding planner, I've learned a thing or two about the people who attend my events. Here are the most common mistakes I see wedding guests make, and how to avoid them. AdvertisementWhen you refuse to RSVP, you force the couple to track down the information when they're already way too busy trying to plan their wedding. Alex Gukalov/ShutterstockIt never fails to amaze me what a wedding guest will leave out for anyone to grab — purses, cell phones, credit cards.

Russia keeps jamming Ukraine's drones and it's making their operators get closer to danger. That's forced Ukraine to shuffle its drone operators, such as first-person-view (FPV) pilots, closer to avoid jamming and counter Russia's own drone operators. In the early months after Russia's full-scale invasion, drone operators could pilot miles from the front, which kept them safer from conflict. Drone operators, who have received extensive training, are indispensable for their side — and high-value targets for enemies. Some of these relatively cheaper drones can have an outsized impact, with some FPV drones taking out high-cost, high-value targets such as Russian T-90 tanks.

This means airlines flying between Europe and southern Africa have to detour around the volatile nation. Carriers like British Airways and Air France are impacted, the latter adding up to two hours of flight time. Airlines like Virgin Atlantic Airways, Lufthansa, and Swiss International Airlines are also avoiding Niger. With the closure of Niger's airspace, airlines are now grappling with an even wider section of no-fly territory in north-central Africa. This map shows the African territories that European airlines cannot fly over.

Banco BPM partners with NEXI (NEXII.MI), Europe's biggest payments company by volume of transactions. On completion of the deal, Banco BPM said it and Iccrea will control 28.6% each of Pay Holding - which controls BCC Pay - and FSI will hold 43%. The venture will have a domestic market share of more than 10%, Banco BPM said.

Russian right-wing organizers built a monument to a dead Russian propagandist in Minecraft. The rally, held ahead of Russia's May Day, last week garnered 12,000 digital visitors. The event, held ahead of Russia's May Day, was organized by the right-wing populist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, according to Meduza. Zhirinovsky, who died last year, was an ultranationalist politician and propagandist considered to be close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin. He baselessly told BCC in 2018 that Ukraine was Russian territory: "It's our territory; it's our people.
The biggest week of this earnings season showed us that things aren't as bad as many feared. The week ahead of earnings, including several more Club names, should tell us more. The results are always important, but it's the guidance and management commentary we will really hone in on to better understand the path ahead. In Amazon's case, a solid first quarter for its AWS cloud business was overshadowed by management seeing a material slowdown in April. ET: Nonfarm Payrolls Looking back It was the biggest week of this earnings season for the Club as several of our mega-cap holdings and industry bellwethers reported results.
MILAN, April 26 (Reuters) - Italian investment fund FSI has agreed to invest up to 100 million euros ($110 million) in debit card operator BANCOMAT to support its expansion in Europe. Under a new business plan drawn up by the company, its main shareholders and FSI, BANCOMAT will complete targeted acquisitions and build a new platform to offer clients a wider range of services and products. In early 2022, it invested in the payments business of cooperative banking group BCC ICCREA, acquiring a 60% stake in electronic payment company BCC Pay. The payments sector has been swept up in a wave of mergers and acquisitions as it seeks the financial muscle to keep up with technological advances while contending with the threat from new entrants. The accord comes after FSI last year signed a preliminary deal for an investment in BANCOMAT.
MILAN, April 26 (Reuters) - Italian unlisted cooperative banking group ICCREA is awaiting by the end of May offers for its insurance business which it values at up to 950 million euros ($1.05 billion) in total, sources with knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday. ICCREA bought out its partner Cattolica, an Italian insurer now owned by bigger peer Generali (GASI.MI), after their accord expired at the end of last year and was not renewed, the three sources said. Cattolica and ICCREA had agreed in 2019 to extend until the end of 2022 their partnership under a deal that saw Cattolica raise to 70% its ownership of their insurance joint-ventures BCC Vita and BCC Assicurazioni. Now in possession of 100% of its insurance business, ICCREA is working with adviser KPMG to select new partners for both its life- and non-life divisions, the sources said. ICCREA Director General Mauro Pastore said in February the bank expected to select one or more partners for its insurance business by the end of the year.
The BCC forecast that gross domestic product (GDP) would fall by 0.3% this year, a smaller decline than its previous forecast of a 1.3% fall, after stronger activity at the end of 2022. Official data showed the economy narrowly avoided a recession after zero growth in the final quarter of 2022. The BCC expects the economy to grow 0.6% next year, while the Bank of England (BoE) predicted a quarter percent contraction for 2024 last month. While consumers and businesses still face a hit from double-digit inflation, the BCC expects inflation to drop to 5% in the fourth quarter and 1.5% by late 2024. The BCC expects BoE rates to be a quarter-point higher at the end of the year than they are now - taking rates to 4.25% - and then for rates to be cut to 3.5% by late 2024.
After the retirement of Boeing Capital Corp (BCC) President Tim Myers this spring, Boeing said it would "realign" the financing arm within the commercial airplane unit while maintaining "strong coordination" with Boeing's treasury arm. Boeing Capital, a subsidiary of Boeing, provides asset-based financing and leasing to airlines. The closing of Boeing Capital continues a trend for Boeing to consolidate its operational structure and ends a significant chapter in the fast-expanding air finance industry. A Boeing spokesperson said the shift will provide airlines "with more consistent support" for arranging aircraft financing. Rob Martin, finance chief for the commercial airline business, and Boeing Treasurer David Whitehouse will be responsible for the transition, West said in the memo.
British airline Flybe collapsed for the second time in three years on January 28. There are still job postings for the airline on LinkedIn, some of which are only a week old. One pilot told the BBC he found out he'd lost his job at 4 a.m., after waking up for an early shift. The pilot told BBC Northern Ireland his initial reaction was mostly confusion: "Do I go to the airport? He told BBC Northern Ireland: "It was a really friendly, family environment, so that's why I came back."

  + stars: | 2022-12-22 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +2 min
The survey of more than 1,168 businesses, which was published on Wednesday, showed significant challenges for UK firms trying to use the Trade and Co-operation Agreement (TCA) that was signed in 2020 to allow tariff-free trade with the European Union once Brexit took effect. About 56% of firms face difficulties adapting to the new rules for trading goods, the survey found, while around 44% of businesses also reported challenges in getting visas for their staff. About 92% of the businesses surveyed were small and medium enterprises. Simple importing of parts to fix broken machines or raw materials from the EU have become a major time-consuming nightmare for small businesses," a manufacturer in the East Midlands was quoted as saying in the BCC survey report. Britain formally withdrew from the European Union on Jan. 31, 2020.

Paul Johnson, director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) think tank, said Truss and Kwarteng's tax cuts could be the largest since 1988, and risked putting Britain's public debt on an unsustainable path. The IFS, together with U.S. bank Citi, estimate household energy subsidies will cost about 120 billion pounds over two years, while six months of business energy subsidies will cost 40 billion pounds. read moreThese are a one-off, and the bigger concern for the IFS is around 30 billion pounds of permanent tax cuts - starting with 14 billion pounds in reduced payroll taxes, confirmed on Thursday, and 15 billion pounds of cuts to corporation tax. For Kwarteng, tax cuts and deregulation are a way to end what he calls "a cycle of stagnation" that led to tax rates being on course for their highest level since the 1940s. "We will liberalise planning rules in specified agreed sites, releasing land and accelerating development," Kwarteng is expected to say.
